TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – April 22, 2016 – Comstor recently launched POV+, a security Proof-of-Value (POV) assessment service that helps Cisco® channel partners highlight the ability of the Cisco security offering to anticipate, respond, contain and remediate network threats, all from a single source.
Powered by Cisco’s Firepower® technology, Comstor’s new POV+ service provides a non-intrusive approach to risk mitigation that highlights potential security vulnerabilities at the network and host level. This increased awareness of potential risk permitted into the customer’s environment by their existing security solution helps Cisco partners paint a compelling picture like no other available service.

The full-featured, pre-configured capabilities of Comstor’s POV+ are managed by Comstor, but partner delivered. This offering is based on Comstor’s preconfigured Cisco ASA firewalls with Cisco FirePOWER, Cisco AMP for Networks and Cisco AMP for Endpoints. Comstor performs approximately 95 percent of the work typically managed by the partner, allowing the partner to scale their sales activities with the Comstor POV+ service. Comstor Sales Engineering is available to work with the partner’s team around the design and positioning of a Cisco security offering, placing the partner in the best possible position to capture sales.
Complete Visibility and Protection, From One Offering
As network threats continue to evolve and increase in their frequency and complexity, security continues to be a high-growth opportunity for Westcon-Comstor and its partners. The value-added distributor’s U.S. Westcon Security business surpassed $1 billion in sales last year, having grown more than 400 percent in a five-year period.
POV+, powered by Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services, Cisco Advanced Malware Protection for Networks and Cisco Advanced Malware for Endpoints is a powerful, easy-to-use and deploy POV that can be set up in under a couple of hours, requiring minimal partner resource commitment. Comstor manages the time-consuming task of provisioning ASAs for POV+, saving the partner hours off of the typical POV preparation time. Reports are generated by Comstor and provided to the partner as well, saving additional valuable time. Interpretive sessions are available to partners, allowing them to take advantage of Comstor’s in-house, Cisco-certified security expertise.
