Chandra works with the Comstor teams in Indonesia to drive sales of Cisco solutions. He joined the business in 2014, and has already been promoted four times. He is currently responsible for stock, partner programmes, monitoring team achievement and maintaining our relationship with Cisco.

Results recognised

When I joined Comstor in 2014 I started in Inside Sales, working with smaller Cisco partners. I then moved up to be Channel Account Manager for strategic partners, then Business Development Manager for Data Centre, and now I’ve been promoted to Product Manager for Cisco. I have enjoyed every role, but I’m looking forward to managing a team for the very first time.

 

It’s all about people

Undoubtedly the best thing about working at Westcon-Comstor is the people. I’ve enjoyed working for anyone who’s managed me, and my new team is a pleasure to work with. It can be tough, so it’s important to be able to trust and rely on those around you.

Ambition and commitment

I’ve progressed this far because of the faith that people have shown in me. When I wanted a new challenge after working in Inside Sales, I was entrusted with a more senior role looking after strategic partners. Two years later, my hard work and results were rewarded with a role in business development. And the experience and skills I learned led to my current position. It’s my first experience managing a team, and it shows that ambition and commitment are rewarded here.

 

Challenge yourself

Whether sales or IT, my advice is the same: build strong relationships with colleagues, learn from them and you can answer any questions a partner or customer can ask. Don’t limit yourself to your area of expertise and role; always challenge yourself and explore every opportunity.
