One such cause close to our hearts is the incredible work done by Starship Children’s Hospital, a leading pediatric hospital in New Zealand that provides specialised care to young patients across the country.

Our relationship with Starship Hospital began with a shared vision of improving the lives of young patients. From the very beginning, Westcon-Comstor recognised the importance of supporting children’s health services, especially in times of uncertainty or crisis. Giving back for the holidays, and beyond

Every Christmas, our team comes together with one mission in mind—spreading joy. For years, Westcon-Comstor employees have contributed toys and gifts for Starship Hospital’s young patients. This year, our HR team went the extra mile to pack and personally deliver gifts like model cars, alongside donations from staff.

Our dedication to Starship Hospital extends beyond the holiday season. Throughout 2024, our creative fundraising efforts raised a remarkable $26,511. Here’s a glimpse at some of the initiatives that made this possible:

• Lego building team event
  Our fiscal year began with a team-building day focused on Lego creations. The result? Not only did it reinforce our teamwork but also led to a $2,000 donation of Lego sets—perfect for inspiring creativity and joy in Starship Hospital’s young patients.
• Datacom partner conference
  At this annual event, we hosted a team-building activity that raised $5,500 to benefit the hospital’s key programs.
• The Big Bake Off
  From cupcakes to cookies, there was no shortage of baking talent at our company-wide bake-off. This fun event raised $1,761 and brought our team closer together while serving a shared purpose.
• Ongoing sponsorship
  Our annual Starship sponsorship remains a vital commitment, providing $17,250 in 2024 alone to keep their essential programs running.
• Christmas gift vouchers
  An employee-led initiative added $160 to support families during the festive season, highlighting the collective strength of small contributions.
