What are AWS Partner Paths?
AWS Partner Paths is a program offered by AWS to help businesses engage with AWS in a more streamlined way. It replaced the technology and consulting partner models – evolving to an offering based on the type of product or service more in line with modern AWS distribution. AWS Partner Paths are the ‘paths’ AWS partners take as they engage with AWS and progress through different tiers and competency levels within their partner program.
AWS Partner Paths let you easily navigate through resources, benefits, and programs relevant to your business.
Which AWS Partner Path is right for me?
Software Path
For organisations that develop software that runs on or is integrated with AWS, qualify your software with AWS Foundational Technical Review.
Hardware Path
For organisations that develop hardware devices that work with AWS, qualify your device with AWS Device Qualification Program.
Services Path
For organisations that deliver consulting, professional, managed, and value-added resale services, achieve AWS Services Partner Tiers.
What do I need to do?
Very little.
Partner Paths is an automated change, so you don’t need to do anything.
- Those engaged in ISV have been moved to the Software Path
- AWS-listed hardware partners have been moved to the Hardware Path
- Consulting partners have been moved to the Service Path

- Enrolled – Choose a Path
- Confirmed – Complete APN Membership by providing billing information for the APN Fee
- Validated – Meet minimum requirements for Path
- Differentiated – Earn AWS Competency, AWS MSP Program, AWS Service Delivery, AWS Service Ready, or AWS Well-Architected Partner Program designation
