Westcon-Comstor news

This International Women’s Day, the theme “Accelerate Action” calls on businesses, communities, and individuals to fast-track their efforts for a more inclusive and equitable world. At Westcon-Comstor, this resonates deeply. We’re in the business of empowering our channel partners, but just as importantly, we’re committed to empowering the individuals who make our business thrive.

Today, we celebrate the women at Westcon-Comstor who not only excel in the IT distribution industry but drive meaningful change every day. They’re breaking barriers, shaping the future, and accelerating actions that lift us all.

Championing Progress

The IT industry hasn’t historically been known for its gender balance. Yet, every year, we see more women stepping into leadership roles, pioneering innovative solutions, and building a sense of community within the tech space. At Westcon-Comstor, we’re proud to support this momentum.

Our values—partnership, integrity, innovation, excellence, and inclusion—align naturally with this year’s International Women’s Day theme. Accelerating action for us means finding opportunities to support each other, lifting barriers wherever we see them, and ensuring every voice is heard.

Voices of Change at Westcon-Comstor

We spoke to some of our brilliant female colleagues, asking them “What would you say to the next generation of women entering the industry?” Their responses were as inspiring as they were varied.

Julia Gardner - Senior Project Manager APAC

Trust yourself, embrace your strengths and weaknesses, while ensuring that you are always being true to who you are.

Mitu Nazareth - Trade Compliance Team Leader EMEA

I’d tell them to embrace both their power and their vulnerability. The industry can be challenging, but it’s also full of opportunity. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, advocate for yourself, and take up space—your voice is needed. At the same time, don’t shy away from moments of self-doubt. It’s okay to not have everything figured out, and sometimes that’s where growth happens. Find mentors who genuinely support you, but also be prepared to mentor others, because lifting each other up is one of the most powerful things we can do.

Stay curious, stay resilient, never underestimate your potential, and remember that your journey is uniquely yours.

Patricia Diaz - Southern Europe Renewals Manager

Advocate for yourself and others, including taking care of your wellbeing.

Don't hesitate to speak up for yourself and advocate for your needs and aspirations and don’t be afraid of balancing work and personal life, as it’s crucial for long-term success and happiness. Also, support and uplift other women in the industry.

A Shared Call to Action

International Women’s Day might be one day a year, but the actions we take today set the pace for the days, months, and years that follow. At Westcon-Comstor, we’re committed to creating an environment where women thrive, not just as professionals but as individuals with diverse backgrounds and ambitions.

To anyone reading this, we encourage you to take notice of the voices, contributions, and achievements of the women in your spheres. What actions can you accelerate for your team, your company, and your industry? At Westcon-Comstor, we’re taking inspiration from the incredible women who show us daily how to step up and make change happen.

Together, we can build momentum so that one day, inclusion and equity aren’t goals—they’re givens. Now that’s an action worth accelerating.
