Westcon-Comstor’s 3D Lab attracts 1,500 users, generating US $25m-plus in new business for cybersecurity partners
Uptake of virtual demos has been driven by strong interest in multi-vendor cloud security solutions from the likes of CrowdStrike, Zscaler and Palo Alto Networks
Westcon-Comstor, a global technology provider and specialist distributor, today announced that its 3D Lab – which allows multi-vendor cybersecurity solutions to be tested against specific use cases in a dynamic virtual demo environment – has attracted more than 1,500 users and generated in excess of US $25m in new business for partners since its launch a year ago.
Created in response to changes in end-user needs and buying behaviour, 3D Lab enables Westcon-Comstor’s partners and their customers to experiment with different combinations of solutions from vendors including CrowdStrike, Zscaler and Palo Alto Networks prior to purchase and implementation.
By road-testing concepts against use cases in Westcon-Comstor’s secure cloud environment, users can upskill on new technologies and explore integrated solutions spanning cloud security, ransomware protection, zero-trust access, data protection and more.
During the year, 24 use cases have been experienced by more than 1,500 users in 27 different lab environments. Half of those environments showcase the value of multi-vendor integrations, including a zero-trust application combining CrowdStrike, Okta and Zscaler.
Uptake has been driven mainly by strong interest in cloud security solutions, with CrowdStrike’s cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) proving one of the most popular lab demos. More than 500 of the 1,500-plus registered 3D Lab users are from CrowdStrike partners and more labs have been set up for CrowdStrike than any other vendor.
The US $25m-plus generated in new business for partners is across solutions by 12 vendors and represents deals that have been secured following 3D Lab demos. The total pipeline generated for partners in terms of new opportunities stands at US $100m.
“We created 3D Lab to enable partners to respond to the rise of the all-in-one cybersecurity platform and end-users’ growing demand for multi-vendor solutions.”
“We created 3D Lab to enable partners to respond to the rise of the all-in-one cybersecurity platform and end-users’ growing demand for multi-vendor solutions,” said Daniel Hurel, Vice President of Cyber Security & Next Gen Solutions EMEA at Westcon-Comstor. “It’s pleasing to see such strong uptake during the first year, and we’re confident that this will continue to accelerate as 3D Lab becomes an increasingly important cog in our value-add offer to both partners and vendors.”
