Enabling the next generation of ICT professionals

SAME Foundation

Westcon-Comstor partnered with The SAME Foundation to renovate, rebuild and fully kit out the Computer Applied Teaching (CAT) Lab for the Diepsloot Combined School.

The SAME Foundation is a national NPO, working with corporate South Africa to identify communities in need and execute projects that have a lasting and sustainable impact on the lives of the beneficiaries it touches.

Westcon-Comstor invests in people, not just technology. In the world of digital disruption, ICT needs passionate young people to shape and change how we engage with technology, the CAT lab will play a key role to enable the next generation professionals.

Career days

We invest in schools from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. We host career days for secondary school pupils to experience a full day of learning and growth, discovering a wide range of career opportunities within the ICT industry.

Presenters at our career days include senior executives and team members from different business areas to give pupils a true sense of life in the corporate world. The aim is to share knowledge so that high-school pupils can make an informed choice to pursue an exciting career in ICT.

 

Our trusts invest in future ICT leaders

Empowerment Trust

The Westcon-Comstor Empowerment Trust Is committed to sponsoring IT-related bursaries to black woman from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. In partnership with the University of Johannesburg, we create value and invest in the female leaders of the future.

 

The JB Marks Bursary Trust

Westcon-Comstor annually sponsors bursaries for the JB Marks Education Trust Fund, dedicated to previously disadvantages Individuals studying within the ICT field.

Structured programmes to develop skills

We provide employment opportunities to previously disadvantaged unemployed youth within our industry, communities and country at large.

Our Level Up Youth Employment Services Programme is aligned with government's direction on BBBEE, designed with training initiatives that will contribute to the enhancement, upliftment and empowerment of the next generation leaders and ICT professionals.

The ultimate objective of the programme Is to either employ participants after completion or assist with finding them jobs In our customer and vendor eco-system.
