Tom leads the internal Comstor UK sales team, made up of almost 40 sales people in varying roles. His overall responsibility is ensuring that our partners experience exceptional customer service, and that Comstor reaches and exceeds its sales goals and objectives.

In the beginning

Tom joined Comstor as a Sales Account Manager in 2008, working with smaller Cisco partners. A few months later he was promoted to Senior Account Manager where he looked after three key strategic customers.

In 2012, he was promoted again to Product Manager for Cisco Services.

“This gave me the ability to specialise in a particular field, and I was able to become an expert on Cisco services which was highly rewarding and enjoyable.”

As the team grew, Tom was asked to lead the UK business unit and became a people manager for the first time.

 

It’s all about the people

“I’ve enjoyed working with my managers, and with everyone who’s worked with me as their manager. This industry can be tough and working in a strong team with hardworking, friendly people has been crucial.”

At the end of 2018, Tom joined Comstor’s central team where he took responsibility for driving the strategy and go to market for Cisco Software across Comstor’s 14 countries in EMEA.

In this role, Tom worked with various services and software leads in-country, alongside local marketing teams, to build and execute on the software business plans.

Tom recalls that they achieved some impressive goals during this time.

“We had some very good performances over the years, including best ever Cisco Services quarterly revenue, best ever market share, and best ever growth rate percentage.”

He says the team were really dedicated, and these accolades were testament to the strong, passionate team they had created. 

Career success today and for the future

Tom’s journey with the company continued and at the start of 2022, he was promoted to the role of Sales Director for Comstor UK.

“My success this far has only been possible because of the faith people have shown in me, and the guidance and support I received from management. Building strong relationships with my colleagues has also played a huge role in my success and I look forward to continuing the excellent work that we produce as a unified team.”
