Our story

In 1985, Thomas Dolan, Philip Raffiani and Roman Michalowski founded Westcon Associates in an upstate New York garage.

Westcon helped change the way computer products were sold, adding value by delivering technical support and training, as well as marketing and financing to small businesses.

In 1998, the business consolidated its value-added distribution business under the name Westcon Group. Comstor was brought into the fold a year later to create the business we know today – Westcon-Comstor.

The technology distribution channel

In the world of business IT, channel distribution means getting a vendor’s product or solution to an end-customer, with deployment by a partner such as a reseller, systems integrator or service provider.

While much of a distributor’s role has traditionally been handling logistics and ensuring delivery, here at Westcon-Comstor we take a value-added approach.

We complement trouble-free logistics with a range of services and capabilities. These include training, technical support, finance, renewals, global deployment and digital distribution.
