At Westcon-Comstor, we’re dedicated to upholding environmental sustainability and ensuring the highest standards of quality management, and we’ve reached two exciting milestones that underscore these commitments.
Our Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore facilities have successfully passed their ISO14001 (environmental management) and ISO9001 (quality management systems) certification audits, reassuring our stakeholders that we’re measuring and holding ourselves accountable.
ISO certifications are issued for three-year periods and involve multiple recurring activities in this timeframe. To maintain accreditations, organisations must demonstrate continual improvement of their systems and approaches.
About ISO14001
The ISO14001 certification is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system.
It supports us in identifying environmental aspects and impacts associated with our activities and services through a lifecycle perspective. With these insights, we can determine adverse or beneficial changes to the environment that we can control or influence, while improving our environmental performance through efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.
The outcomes of our ISO14001 assessments were positive overall, with the auditor highlighting our “strong commitment from the business to ESG”, acknowledging our resourcing, global carbon emission reduction targets, and local initiatives (e.g., recycling and re-use).
About ISO9001
The ISO9001 certification is a globally recognised standard for quality management systems. It outlines criteria and principles for organisations to follow so they can consistently meet customer expectations and demonstrate their commitment to quality.
Having an ISO9001 accreditation shows we have effective processes and ongoing training in place, ensuring consistent delivery of flawless services time after time.
In this audit, the auditor noted a well-documented and well-established set of processes with training in place and staff who were confident in undertaking their work.
